Vice Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence Winners 2022-23

Please join us in congratulating all the five award winners. Particularly, our colleagues in SSE: Zafar Ayyub Qazi and Amir Faisal on winning the Vice Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence for the year 2023.

Zafar Ayyub Qazi's forte in teaching computer networks, internet security, and informational privacy represents a masterful combination of clarity, engagement and rigor. In his classroom, data packets in a congested network seem to come to life. Furthermore, in his distinguished career at the School of Science and Engineering LUMS, Zafar has inspired a vast number of students, placing them into the world's most renowned research groups.

I recognize Amir Faisal as an artist who loves calligraphy, in addition to his broad, yet deep erudition in cell biology. His blackboard depicts this combination of complex interlinkages of biological pathways and glowing illustrations. In his tour to the mountainous north during the Baltistan experience, Amir also revealed his interest in natural biology. I can also imagine how lucky his PhD students would be---gleaning the wisdom from this sage, of our biochemical existence!

Dear Zafar and Amir Faisal, please accept our heartiest congratulations. The VC Awards are meant to recognize life changing teaching, and that's what you give as a shining example to all of us.

Best wishes
