Abstract
Most real-world problems of global significance require crosspollination of innovations in multiple disciplines. Two such problems of our interest are: 1) Achieving zero touch automation in complex dynamic systems such as 5G and 6G; and 2) Transforming reactive “sick care” into “proactive healthcare” by making and leveraging innovations in connectivity, biosensing and AI. In this seminar Professor Imran will present a brief overview of research being carried out by the teams led by him at AI4Networks Research Center, University of Oklahoma, USA; James Watt school of Engineering, Glasgow, UK; and AI4LYF LLC, OK, USA and Lahore, Pakistan. The purpose of this talk is to make aspiring students aware of promising post-graduate training, education, research, and employment opportunities that exist in the aforementioned fields in Lahore, Pakistan; Glasgow, UK; and Oklahoma, USA.

Ali Imran is (full) Professor of Cyber Physical Systems in James Watt School of Engineering, at the University of Glasgow. He is also  Williams Professor (tenured) of Telecommunications and Networking, and Presidential Professor in ECE and the founding director of the AI4Networks Research Center at the University of Oklahoma (OU), USA. (He is currently on Sabbatical leave from OU). His research interests include brain inspired advances in AI and its innovative applications in wireless networks and healthcare. His work on these topics has resulted in several patents and over 150 peer-reviewed articles including some of the highly influential papers in the domain of wireless network automation and AI based

diagnostics using mobile and wearable devices. His groundbreaking work on these topics has been covered by numerous international news portals such as Voice of America, Fox News , IEEE Spectrum and PTV World. On these topics he has led numerous NSF, NASA, FDA and industry funded multinational projects, given invited talks/keynotes and tutorials at international forums, and advised major public and private stakeholders and co-founded multiple successful start-ups.
