Abstract
In this decade, the whole world moving towards PV systems and a lot of research has been done in this field but still every day new research reveals new innovations and PV system is going more advance and efficient day by day. Although silicon solar cells dominate the current solar PV market, thin film technology is growing up rapidly nowadays and many thin film modules like CdTe and CIGS have reached 18% efficiency. In this thesis, we first compare crystalline silicon and thin film PV by doing techno-economic simulations. Secondly, we compare fixed tilt PV systems with mobile sun tracking schemes and identify the best scenario for which we can develop maximum performance. Thirdly, we explore bifacial panels and their bi-faciality factor and highlight their relative performance as compared to mono-facial panels. In the end, we compare domestic PV system and commercial PV system and elaborate factors which are important for both types of systems.
