Celebrating Achievements of Professors - Ali Ashher Zaidi and Suleman Shahid

We're thrilled to announce the well-deserved promotions of Dr. Ali Ashher Zaidi from Mathematics and Suleman Shahid from Computer Sciences to the esteemed positions of Associate Professors, along with their grant of tenure!

Ali Ashher Zaidi is an applied mathematician (with a deep interest in pure aspects) who works with biological systems, cell dynamics, cell proliferation and graph theory. Significantly, his pedagogy and clarity of exposition has earned him the reputation as one of the School's finest teachers of introductory mathematics, motivating and enthusing numerous students towards quantitative and analytical learning. Please join me in congratulation Ali for this important milestone.

Suleman Shahid is a true institution builder. Equipped with his expert skills in design thinking, human-computer interaction, assistive technologies and information systems for human development, Suleman has seeded the growth of the LUMS Learning Institute and the LUMS's digital learning space, called LUMSx. These are new institutes that will help take the University forward in this decade and the years to come. He has also epitomized the interactions between technologies, and societies, aesthetics and the fine arts including film making. This symbiosis is evident in the many conferences he organizes, in the films he produces, the learning material he curates and the papers he publishes. We are lucky to have Suleman with us.
