Design and Innovation Challenge for Chemical Engineers (DICCE) 2025

The Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Department at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is arranging the Design and Innovation Challenge for Chemical Engineers (DICCE) 2025 for young and aspiring minds in Chemical Engineering from across the country to showcase their problem-solving, critical thinking, and professional leadership skills. Teams of up to five senior chemical engineering students from various universities will propose a technical solution to a design problem within five months. All solutions will subsequently be evaluated by a panel of experts from industry and academia, and the winning solution will receive a cash prize of PKR 100,000/-. The timeline/details of this event are as follows:

•    Registration Deadline: July 31, 2024 (please register here)
•    Competition start date: September 02, 2024 (the design problem will be emailed to the faculty advisor)
•    Deadline for the submission of design solution: January 31, 2025
•    On-campus presentations and award ceremony: 2nd week of April 2025
(exact date will be announced soon)
•    Registration fee: PKR 5,000/- per team (non-refundable)

All final-year chemical engineering students are invited to participate in this competition. It will be an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience, interact with students and faculty from different universities, and receive recognition from the academic and industrial community. The competition now spans over five months, giving students more time to work on their projects. The DICCE 2025 problem statement can be considered as their final year project, where the students complete the remaining requirements of the project after the submissions are sent in January 2025.

Each university can register one team for the competition.
