Abstract
Infections caused by SARS-Cov2 range from mild to severe resulting frequently in fatalities. Immune responses to SARS-Cov2 virus remains obscure and it is not clear if the variability in response is the result of differences in the concentration and neutralizing capacity of antibodies generated in response to infection. Neutralizing antibody response is integral to protection against
viral infections. However, antibody response is affected by several conditions which include underlying comorbid conditions, disease severity and pathogen characteristics. A variable antibody response is being observed to infections caused by SARS-Cov2. Variability is being observed in both titer and in isotypes of antibodies. The study is therefore designed to determine the concentration of IgG and IgM in acutely ill and convalescing patients. Using demographic, biological and clinical variables we performed the following analysis; role of gender and age in acquisition and severity of infection, trends of infections in three waves, association of comorbid conditions with severity of infections, association of severity of infections with antibody titer.
