Materials world and the importance of R&D

Venue
NUST Islamabad

Two workshops entitled  ‘Materials world and the importance of R&D’ are happening in Islamabad and Karachi respectively,

23 May 2022 at the National Institute of Science and Technology (NUST) Islamabad.

26 May 2022 at DHA Suffa University (DSU) Karachi.

Facilitated by Dr Syed from the Surface Engineering and Precision Centre (SEPc), Cranfield University, UK.

These workshops are part of an effort to bring together Pakistani and Cranfield University researchers. The workshops invite faculty, researchers, engineers, and other research stakeholders to share research expertise and explore potential avenues for collaboration. There will be a series of interactive activities and group discussions. We hope to develop a joint research agenda, short courses, and exchange education system to ultimately build a strong and sustainable SEPc Cranfield UK-University/Industry Pakistan model. Attention will be given to interdisciplinary approaches to material challenges (particularly in the energy and aerospace sectors), including technical/engineering solutions for renewable energy in a Pakistani context. The key focus of the discussion will be on materials sustainability. There will also be an opportunity to discuss the topics of material degradation processes, coating protection, nanotechnology, sensor technology, and imaging systems. Facilities available at SEPc will also be presented. The workshops are free to attend, will be held in English and will draw only on unclassified information. The virtual participation of other colleagues from the SEPc in the UK is also planned. Please register your interest in attending one of these workshops here.
