Venue
Zoom/Online
Abstract
Radar technology, confined originally to military and scientific applications, has made great strides in the commercial arena in the past few decades. Radar systems have found applications in automatic driver assistance systems (ADAS) including automatic cruise control (ACC) and lane keep assist (LKA), navigation of autonomous vehicles, perimeter surveillance, traffic telemetry, industrial automation, forestry, and marine navigation, to name a few. This talk is a mix of the commercial and technical aspects of low-cost Radars for civil applications. Topics covered include an introduction to commercial design, market disruption/how to disrupt a market, and how to take a Radar product from the lab to market. Thereafter, the talk will cover some innovative future ideas for commercial Radar design. The talk will conclude with some quick notes on how to start a lean startup.
