Abstract:

Stock prices are a very volatile phenomenon, therefore they are very hard to predict. However, predicting the movement of stocks is how money is made in stock market. One way used by Market participants to execute profitable trades is by using technical indicators (TI), also known as the technical stock trading. TI are heuristic or pattern-based signals produced by the price, volume, and/or open interest of a security or contract. A financial instruments time series history has the potential to influence price evolution:this is the bases of ‘technical stock trading’. It has been observed in the literature that profitability in ‘technical stock trading’ has moved from daily to intraday trades, over the past couple of decades. We want to use machine learning to forecast financial time series as a function of one or more technical indicators, for high frequency data. Hopefully, this will be of use in intraday technical trading.
