Abstract: 

Motivating the f(R,T) theory as a variant of Einstein's General Relativity, we look at some of the concerns that are involved in building more accurate descriptions for gravity. Modelling matter distribution via the perfect fluid approximation, we discuss the development of spacetimes that solve the modified equations for gravity in the f(R,T) paradigm, under the planar and cylindrically symmetric ansatzes. We also discuss the conformal symmetries of the obtained spacetimes.
