Asymmetric cell division is observed in certain flies in which cells divide into daughter cells of different sizes. Here, size is determined by the DNA content. We study the functional partial differential equation, that models the cell division process, for constant division, growth, and death rates.

We review an article which derives an analytic solution to the model. The solution is unique and positive.
