The Department of Chemistry at SBASSE is actively looking for faculty members at the level of Lecturer, tenure-track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor particularly in the areas of physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, computational chemistry and chemical engineering.
We expect successful applicants to develop a globally competitive research programme of his/her own interest with a vision to address and help in solving our national problems, in addition to addressing fundamental questions in science & technology. LUMS is committed to providing funds to develop such research programmes, in addition to providing state-of-the-art research infrastructure. Faculty members are thus encouraged to apply for research grants to national/international funding agencies to make such programmes self-sustainable. They are also required to contribute to teach undergraduate and upcoming graduate programme courses in chemistry.
Currently, we have research programmes in renewable energy technologies, macromolecular chemistry, organometallic synthesis and nanomaterials. All these programmes are focusing on the development of chemicals/materials for a variety of applications including those in healthcare (disease diagnostics and treatment), environmental remediation, fuel/solar cells, biodiesel production, catalysis, forensic science and local industry.
